Creative Assets for a Children's Musical
The Loaned Manger is an excellent example of a ready-made Christmas musical available online. Having the script, scores, lyrics, audio and other production highlights created specifically for directors of children's groups makes it easy for them to preview, share and purchase. The ready-made theme gave us the direction we needed to complete the list of other design needs, from stage design to promo and event-day materials.
Setting the Stage
Creating the Town of Incarnation 20-foot backdrop literally set the stage for this project. That same artwork was used on graphics for social posts, church website and video productions for promotional and post-event efforts. Printed invites, posters, signage, programs, and T-shirts also featured the same art and title graphic.
Consistency from Concept to Curtain Call
Even before the curtain opens, many things have already set expectations. Factors that contribute to the larger experience as a whole, for those behind thescenes and in the audience, include:
• Social posts and printed invites establish the look and feel of the event.
• Website, bulletins, posters and videos can further support a well-branded event.
• Coordinated behind-the-scenes materials make the director look more organized, too.
• Programs, signage, staff ID badges and event-day decor add the finishing touch.
While the production is the main attraction, design plays a major supporting role. The right art and design ties everything together, and resonates with people even after the event.
